Now that the summer has come to an end we often forget that even though the sun is not brightly shining upon our face & body we still need to remember to protect our skin from all those daily free radicals and pollutants that are found in our harmful environment.

What is UVA and UVB?
UVA = Ultraviolet Aging (caused by indoor lights, fluorescent lights)
UVB = Ultraviolet Burning (caused by outdoor light, sun exposure)

We need sunscreens to protect us from both UVA and UVB harmful effects. We want to 1st PREVENT our skin from free radical formation within our body and the environment
Is the use of sunscreen very important?
The importance of sunscreen is simple! It is designed to protect your skin from the damage caused by the sun and ultraviolet light. The majority of skin damage such as wrinkles, brown spots, uneven skin tone, visible blood vessels etc. is from sun damage. Sunscreens prevent this from happening.
CoolSculpting FAQ: Contraindications
Q: What are the conditions where CoolSculpting is not for you?
A: CoolSculpting Body Contouring Treatments may be contraindicated with some conditions: These include
a. if you suffer from cryoglobulinemia, or
b. if you suffer from paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria.
In these conditions, cold makes the symptoms worse and therefore are contraindicated.
CoolSculpting FAQ: Bruising or other Side Effects
Q: Will I get bruising or redness from Body Contouring with CoolSculpting treatment?
A: In all cases there is a temporary redness in the area over the skin where the cooling plates and suction device are placed for the hour per treatment.
Sometimes, there is some bruising in the treated area due to the vacuum pressure and its effect on superficial blood vessels- capillaries in the skin. This all resolves within 24 hours or up to 2-3weeks. If there is burning pain on the skin and it is not tolerable, prescription treatment is available. Most patients need no medications.
